I'M JAY
Hi! My name is John Ford Jr., but I've been known by "Jay" most of my life. I love to teach, and work with my hands, which has led to a dual career of coaching golf and making unique woodworking pieces. Now, I want to share my gifts with others who appreciate what handmade truly means.
Attention to the details are important in all aspects of life, and I am hopeful that you will see how my life experiences shine through in my craftsmanship and teaching.
MY MENTORS
I was born in Indiana and proudly served our country in the Army. After 4 years of service, I started my professional teaching/coaching career by attending Professional Golfers Career College in California. Shortly after graduating, I was blessed to get connected with the late Jim Flick, a world renowned golf instructor, as well as working alongside Jack Nicklaus at his golf academies. I learned such valuable lessons from both of these gentlemen, that I will carry with me the rest of my life.
MY 2nd CAREER
After years in the golf industry, that took me from Indiana, to California, Arizona and Texas, I have settled with my wife, Linda, in Willis, Texas on Lake Conroe. While I love to fish the the lake in my spare time, I find that working with my hands, and creating something special for others is the most fulfilling. I would love to hear your ideas and match them up with creative and unique pieces. Cutting boards and charcuterie boards are my specialty.
